Community awareness of alcohol, tobacco, and other drug problems is low.

Parents are unaware and/or disregard the negative effects of their alcohol, tobacco and/or drug abuse on their children’s development and health.

Area police departments need more training and better equipment in specific areas that affect their job.

The community lacks awareness of the activities of the Drug-Free Council.

Alcohol and other drugs are associated with a substantial portion of violent crime.

Treatment services are limited for chronic drug/alcohol abusers.

Methamphetamine (meth) manufacture and use is the number one criminal activity in Jackson County.

The judicial system continues to be overwhelmed and inadequate to deal with the increase in arrests/issues related to alcohol and other drug use in Jackson County.

Jackson County continues to need improvements to make neighborhoods drug-free and safe.
